Statement of Surface Transportation Board Chairman Roger Nober on the Resignation of Vice Chairman Wayne Burkes

Surface Transportation Board Chairman Roger Nober issued the following statement regarding the resignation of Vice Chairman Wayne Burkes:

"Vice Chairman Burkes resigned his position on the Surface Transportation Board yesterday. He has been an able Commissioner who has added a valuable viewpoint to the matters that have come before the Surface Transportation Board. He has served the public well during his tenure here and his presence will be missed. On behalf of the entire Board, I wish him well in his future endeavors."

Vice Chairman Burkes' five-year term expired December 31, 2002.

Commissioner Linda Morgan will remain a Member of the Board into May.
