Surface Transportation Board Vice Chairman Wayne O. Burkes Announces His Resignation

Surface Transportation Board (Board) Vice Chairman Wayne O. Burkes has announced his resignation, effective today, as a Member of the Board to return home to Mississippi to campaign for State Treasurer.

In making his announcement, Vice Chairman Burkes said,

"The Surface Transportation Board has been a great home to me, but I find that I must return to my home state of Mississippi to campaign for the Constitutional Office of State Treasurer.

"I will very much miss the friendships and professional associations that I have made during my four years at the Board."
