SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD POSTS TO ITS WEB SITE SUMMARIES OF RAIL CONTRACTS FOR TRANSPORTATION OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS


The Surface Transportation Board announced today that, beginning with information for the first (calendar) quarter of 2008, the Board has newly posted to its Web site summaries of railroad contracts entered into for the transportation of agricultural products. The summaries have been electronically posted in fully searchable "PDF" form.


In accordance with 49 U.S.C. 10709(d) and 49 CFR Part 1313, railroads must file with the Board a summary of each contract entered into for the transportation of agricultural products. Agricultural contract summaries filed with the Board prior to 2008 will be posted by the end of this year.


The agricultural contract summaries are available for viewing and downloading via the Board's site, at www.stb.dot.gov, under "Industry Data," then under "Agricultural Contract Summaries."
