SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD ACTING CHAIRMAN FRANCIS P. MULVEY APPOINTS RACHEL DANISH CAMPBELL DIRECTOR OF AGENCY’S OFFICE OF PROCEEDINGS
Acting Chairman Francis P. Mulvey today announced his appointment of Rachel Danish Campbell, Esq. as Director of the STB’s Office of Proceedings. Ms. Campbell’s appointment is effective April 13, 2009.
Since 2006, Ms. Campbell has served as Chief of Staff to former STB Chairman Charles D. Nottingham. Prior to that, Ms. Campbell served on the staff of the STB’s Office of the General Counsel, and as an Attorney-Advisor to then-Chairman Roger Nober. She has extensive litigation experience, and has represented the STB before U.S. Courts of Appeal and in numerous other forums and capacities. Prior to joining the agency, she was a partner at the law firm of Foley & Lardner.
Ms. Campbell holds a B.A. in English from Manhattanville College (1987), and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center (1990). She makes her home in Centreville, Virginia, with her husband and three children.
Acting Chairman Mulvey thanks Joseph H. Dettmar, Esq. who has served as Acting Director of the Office of Proceedings since the retirement of the former Director, David Konschnik, Esq. in early March.
