SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD CHAIRMAN CHARLES D. NOTTINGHAM NAMES SCOTT M. ZIMMERMAN ATTORNEY-ADVISOR
Surface Transportation Board Chairman Charles D. Nottingham today announced his appointment of Scott M. Zimmerman, Esq. as his Attorney-Advisor.
Since February 2006, Mr. Zimmerman has served in the STB's Office of the General Counsel. Before joining the agency, he practiced transportation and regulatory law as a partner at the law firm of Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger, L.L.P. in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Zimmerman holds a B.A. in Government from Cornell University (1985) and J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at The College of William & Mary (1992), where he served on the staff of the
William & Mary Law Review
. Prior to entering law school, he worked for the U.S. House of Representatives for four years.
Mr. Zimmerman is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia, as well as several federal district courts and courts of appeals. He is a member of the Association of Transportation Law Professionals and was president of the association's District of Columbia Chapter from 2003-2004.
Mr. Zimmerman makes his home in Herndon, VA, with his wife and two children.
